Jeffrey Alexander & The Big Lidders are continuing their protection of the 2024 Strong in the Valley festival on NYCTaper!
The Heavy Lidders, Jeffrey Alexander &, and The Big Lidders were the first team to perform at the festival half, having first performed there in the first time. For this set, the core four were joined by Wednesday Knudsen ( sax ) and Ron Schneiderman ( guitar ), and John Moloney ( percussion ) fresh off their set with Sunburned Hand of The Man. We received a one-song set thanks to the Lidders ‘ septet arrangement. One 45-minute version of the classic kaleidoscopic head hell,” Dark Star”.
Phil Lesh after said,” Dark Star is constantly playing there. We simply need to use it. The Lidders completely tapped into the area in Red Hook, New York on this day when Dark Star was being played in a field close to an apple garden. According to Story, one group member had a complete psychedelic experience with walls moving upon hearing him play. Live, it struck me so hard that I had to adjust for about ten hours before falling back into my camping chair. Your mileage may change.
My MBHOs and fantastic board supply from FOH architect Daniel Stout provided the audio for this recording. The quality is excellent. Getting your mind on point and fire off!
