The Princess of Wales opted for an elegant Emilia Wickstead dress for today’s engagements during the US state visit.

The Prince and Princess welcomed President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in Windsor, coinciding with ongoing renovations at Buckingham Palace.

Rebecca English from The Daily Mail shared a brief video showcasing the event.

The Telegraph provides additional insights in this article by Hannah Furness.

The Prince and Princess of Wales awaited at nearby Victoria House to greet the Trumps, stepping forward as the winds swirled from the helicopter propellers.

Prince William took the initiative, greeting Trump with a handshake while engaging in conversation, gesturing for his wife to join him.

The heir to the throne, William, gently placed a hand on Kate’s back, inviting the group to walk across the lawn. President Trump engaged the future king about his children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. William replied, “They’re doing well and are back at school; the new term just started.”

The King and Queen subsequently welcomed the President and First Lady.

The group then proceeded to the viewing stand.

The Prince and Princess engaged warmly.

Another perspective of the event.

The Queen, First Lady, and Princess of Wales were seen chatting during the ceremony.

Following this, the President and First Lady joined The King and Queen as well as The Prince and Princess of Wales for a carriage procession through Windsor Castle’s grounds, escorted by the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.

The Queen and First Lady shared moments together.

Similarly, The Prince and Princess of Wales participated in the procession.

Lieutenant Colonel Storm Green invited the President to inspect the guard of honor, stating, “Mr. President, the guard of honour from the Grenadier Guards, Coldstream Guards, and Scots Guards awaits your inspection.”

Rebecca English also shared a humorous video of a lighthearted exchange between the King and the President during the inspection, with the King advising the President to “watch the sword!”

A musical performance took place on the East Lawn of Windsor Castle.

The performance featured members of the Royal Air Force Pipes and Drums, led by the Band Master of the Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines Portsmouth (The Royal Band).

Additionally, members of the United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps participated.

This celebration included a private lunch and the viewing of a Royal Collection exhibition focused on items associated with the United Kingdom and the United States, located in the Green Drawing Room at Windsor Castle. The Prince and Princess of Wales were also seen with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Now, let’s take a moment to highlight the fashion choices from today. The Queen wore a striking cobalt blue ensemble from Fiona Clare, complemented by a Philip Treacy hat and the Russian Sapphire Cluster Brooch. Meanwhile, Mrs. Trump impressed in a dark grey military-style suit and hat designed by Christian Dior.

Next, we focus on The Princess’s outfit.

The Emilia Wickstead design features a familiar silhouette for those who appreciate the Princess’s style. Notable comparisons can be made to the label’s Chaney Dress ($2850), which has an A-line shape with a fitted bodice paired with a full, pleated skirt. The Princess made some modifications, removing the thin belt and lowest row of buttons, and opting for a wider waistband instead. The lapels were also customized; the common version features notched lapels, while she chose peaked and curvier lapels. The ready-to-wear dress is made from 95% polyester and 5% elastane, and it is likely that the Princess’s version is made from a similar fabric.

Initially, some believed the Princess was recycling an Emilia Wickstead design worn during the South Africa state visit in 2022, but the differences among the two garments are obvious.

The Princess adorned Queen Alexandra’s Three-Feather Brooch, which has been seen during the South Africa state visit in 2022, during Commonwealth Day in 2023, and again today.

The Princess also showcased her ruby and diamond earrings, paired with a necklace that remained out of sight in most photos. It is likely that this necklace is the same one worn during the VE Day 80th anniversary celebrations in May, as donned for both occasions.

The Princess completed her look with a stunning Chanel Boy Flap Bag featuring an Enamel Handle, crafted from burgundy quilted calfskin with a decorative enamel and brass handle.

The hat worn by the Princess is a new design by Jane Taylor London, specifically the Neso Style ($2710), made from luxury felt with a satin bow and veiling. The description mentions that the hat is “securely attached with a comb and discreet hair-colored elastic.”

The Princess also appeared to wear an eye-catching new pair of Gianvito 105s in Chocolate Brown Suede, showcasing a pointed toe design with a 4-inch stiletto heel.
