Happy 7th birthday, Prince Louis! This morning, Kensington Palace shared a delightful photo to celebrate the occasion. Captured earlier this month at Anmer Hall, the family’s Norfolk residence on the Sandringham estate, the image showcases the joy of the birthday boy.

The photographer, Josh Shinner, also took a charming black and white portrait for the Wales family’s holiday card in 2023.

Later today, a delightful short video featuring the young prince was released.

In the adorable 25-second clip, Prince Louis tries to direct the photoshoot, saying to photographer Josh Shinner, “I can jump down from here,” as he walks along a fallen tree trunk, jumping into the air.

In a nostalgic side-by-side comparison, you can see Prince Louis in the photo taken by his mother for his sixth birthday next to the new image released today.

Most of us remember the excitement surrounding his arrival seven years ago.

Reflecting on the past year, we’ve seen Prince Louis at various significant events, including Trooping the Colour in June.

He was seen laughing in the Glass State Coach, used last year due to heavy rain that day.

Here’s another lovely moment from last June.

We also captured a moment of him jumping over a sand dune in a birthday photo taken by the Princess of Wales for Prince William.

Another touching moment shows Louis and his younger sister watching England play Spain during the UEFA Championship in July.

We’ve also seen the prince in heartwarming scenes throughout the September 2024 video celebrating the Princess of Wales completing chemotherapy.

Among the highlights was a scene where the Prince was captured climbing a tree.

He also participated in the December taping of “Royal Carols: Together at Christmas.”

Westminster Abbey shared a wonderful photo from that event in today’s birthday message.

Another heartwarming photo from that event captures Louis smiling at Kate.

This birthday, the Prince joined his family for the annual Christmas Day walk to church at Sandringham.

Here he is, delighted with a stuffed animal given to him by a well-wisher.

Another joyful Christmas Day moment shows him receiving gifts from the crowd.

And one more of him balancing gifts from the crowd.

Today, the Welsh Guards sent their birthday wishes to the young prince.

This festive montage showcases all three Wales children in their photos celebrating their seventh birthdays.

It’s astonishing to see how much Prince Louis has grown!

In today’s birthday photo, he is wearing a sweater from Denmark’s Seeland brand, the Kids’ Clent Pullover ($31, now sold out), made from 100% wool. The garment is praised for its insulation and temperature-regulating qualities, making it perfect for cold weather.

A huge thanks to Found by Bojana for quickly identifying this piece. The Princess of Wales has previously worn several Seeland designs, including the Woodcock Advanced Jacket seen in April 2021.

The shirt underneath is a tattersall check reminiscent of a Pepa and Company style worn by Prince George during the 2016 Canada tour, though it is not the exact same shirt.

If I discover more details about the shirt or jeans Prince Louis is wearing, I’ll be sure to update you.

Additionally, it’s been announced that the Prince and Princess will be celebrating their 14th wedding anniversary in Scotland next week.

Titled the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay in Scotland, the couple will visit the Isle of Mull on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Isle of Mull is Scotland’s fourth-largest island, home to around 3,000 residents engaged in tourism, farming, and fishing industries. Its neighboring island, Iona, boasts a population of approximately 170 but attracts about 130,000 visitors yearly due to its rich history.

Below is a ferry crossing the Sound of Mull with the Isle of Mull in the background.

Upon arrival, the Duke and Duchess will head to Tobermory, a charming harbor town, to visit a beloved community hub and an artisan market, where they’ll meet some of the island’s talented creators. More details can be found in Louise Glen’s story for the Aberdeen Press and Journal.

The couple will tour the community hub and the Tobermory producers’ market, interacting with local makers and sampling delicacies.

During their visit, The Royal Foundation will announce a partnership aimed at supporting and developing two crucial community spaces across Mull, ensuring locals can continue engaging in community activities.

Kensington Palace has mentioned that they will also visit a local croft to learn about sustainable farming and hospitality practices exclusive to this region. The Scottish Crofting Commission describes crofting as a unique landholding system that is integral to life in the Highlands and Islands.

On Wednesday, the Royal couple will visit ancient woodlands to engage with the Mull and Iona Ranger Service, which focuses on conservation, biodiversity, and education. As per the Press and Journal, they will join a school group in outdoor learning and interact with Ardura Acorns, an early years playgroup centered around nature exploration.

This initiative highlights the importance of protecting and promoting the natural environment, especially in community-owned forests managed by the Mull and Iona Community Trust.

I look forward to sharing more with you next week!
