Everyone has been persuaded for a while that Chris Pratt is discreetly a Trump vote, despite the fact that he has never said it, and his controversy is enough to warrant a post of his own. Now, he’s under fire once for his remarks around the 2024 Presidential Election.

Does this break my heart as a Star-Lord lover? Definitely! But there’s no getting around it: Pratt is a pompous, wealthy prat. And he highlights this very well in a op-ed he did for his mother-in-law Maria Shriver’s store, Sunday Paper. It is totally both-sides-ism. However, how can you possibly help both sides when one of those factors regularly spews racism and misogyny? Pratt has chosen to ignore all the racist behaviour from the Trump camp, so that question is unanswered.

Pratt stated that he believes that” some of the training that sporting teach us may be exactly what all of us need as we chart a course forth.” Okay, in his mind, this vote is comparable to a game.

I cried for at least an hour the day after returning from a wrestling match. I looked in the mirror, tears streaming down my ears, and I experienced a sense of calm apprehension. Why was I crying? I decided to stop. Looking up today, I think it was at that time that I started playing sports. In that time, I understood that losing is part of the game.

Ideal, but for women, LGBTQ+ people, people of color, disabled persons and more, that “losing” could very well think losing right, losing well-being. However, Pratt continues to shod his sporting metaphor blatantly into the earth.

It’s acceptable to pause and bite your scars when you lose. Heck, go ahead and scream in the picture. Allegiance to our “team” can, however, make us forget that we are fellow countrymen if we become very paralyzed by beat or too arrogant in victory, Pratt said, indifferent to how Donald Trump and company have treated those other compatriots.

Social media has roasted Pratt for his condescending both-sides lecturing. People again admired him in Parks and Recreation and admired him when he accepted the MCU job, but those days are long gone.

People had known that Pratt was excluded from a pro-Harris movie call that many of the American MCU players were involved in in the days leading up to the election. At that point, they assumed Pratt would possibly support Trump or support both parties.

In truth, we do n’t know who Pratt actually voted for. Maybe it was Harris, who knows. However, it will take a while before social media makes him forget this brief pre-election lesson. People are n’t “licking their wounds” right now—they’re scared.

But hey, can we just recast Star-Lord, kindly, and allow Pratt fade away? Losing is part of the game, after all.
