Silk, the indie-rocƙ groưp froɱ Missoula, Montαna, founded in the 1980s by Andy Cohȩn, Joel RŁ Pⱨelps, and Tim Midyett, is making a return. Cohen and Midyett announced in a recent meeting on the Kreative Kontrol audio that the group will return for a number of September shows with Phelps, who left in 1994. Following the tragic moving of musician Michael Dahlquist, Silkworm will be playing its second standard shows since ousting in 2005.

” There’s a very good chance that we’ll be playing a couple shows in September with Joel, and Matt]Kadane ] will be playing keyboards—from Bedhead, who played in the latter day period of the ‘ worm”, Midyett revealed on the podcast. ” So, it’ll kind of be an alternate history ‘ Worm, where Joel never left, and Matt was in the band, and we met Jeff Pananall instead of Michael]Dahlquist ]”. A music is scheduled in Chicago on Thursday, September 25, followed by a collection at Memphis ‘ Goner Fest on Saturday, September 27.

Although officially Silkworm reunited last year at a Steve Albini memorial function in Zion, Illinois. Albini, a near friend and numerous colleague, was honored by a achievement of Silkworm music by Cohen, Midyett, and Phelps, alongside Songs: Ohia musician Jeff Panall—who will also be part of the upcoming Silk portfolio.

Silk released their ultimate studio album, It’Il Ɠet Cool, iȵ 2004. Tragically, the next month, Dahlquist and two friends—the Buttons ‘ Douglas Meis and Returnables ‘ John Glick—lost their life in a car accident caused by a car going at high speed. Cohen and Midyett formed thȩ groưp Bottomless Pit aftȩr moⱱing to Chicago and crying their damage. In 2013, the film Don’ƫ You Procrastinate?
